Week 9-Summary

Finished……

So much information, Bolgs, Wikis, Rollyo and so much more. After this exercise I know that I will not be an expert but I am well on the way to understanding the terminology. When somebody asks me about a Blog, I won't look at them "blankley" . Learning 2.0 was a great learning experience. There were some exercises that interested me more than others. I learnt how to share files, photos, emails, pod casts, pictures but during the course we were not able to share passwords to connect to every exercise. Having so many passwords was a stress. I think this could be made more user friendly. But… ..In the beginning of this learning adventure I wondered if this was going to be of interest to me …….
It certainly was.

Week 9: Pocasts, Video & Downloadable Audio

You Tube:

This is great for Internet users that have time to explore. I have added this video clip as the exercise requested but I really dont think this would be something that I would have time to use.

N.B. For some reason I couldn't find anything in English. But the Ben & Zacks ( Da: apaulso2)Twist and Shout Melody attached is a hoot.I think You Tube would be the only place you could get your 5.53seconds of fame from a backyard garage.( It was a really long 5.53 seconds for me but I had to see if it got any better...It didn't).

This is another thing that you would need to have a lot of time to explore to appreciate. Great for businesses though if you had a team exercise or a Training session.

This was a great trip down memory lane.

Downloadable Audio Books: This is certainly going BIG.

Week 8-Online Applications & Tools

Zoho:

This has to be the best tool yet. Much easier than wondering if the person you are sending an email to has a compatible computer. (Then recieving frustrating phone calls later if they havn't been able to open a document).

I like the way permission can be granted for changing a document when sharing.

Inserting a picture is very easy.

(This was a real failure, I did have problems exporting my blog, there are far too many passwords in Learning 2.0)

Beb 2.0 Awards:

Great sites and very informative, well worth a look at.

Week 7 - What is a wiki

http://www.libsuccess.org/index.php?title=What_is_a_Wiki

I always wondered what a Wiki and Widgets were. I am sure that Wikipedia the online open-community encyclopedia tool is great for many things. ( especially for getting everybody organised for a camping trip).

Edit, Save, link . Three important things to remember when you want to import Slide shows / Calendars etc. into a wiki.

Sandbox Wiki:

How many times do you go somewhere and say "That was great". This is a great way to share.

Week 6- Tagging, folksonomies & social book marking in Del.icio.us

Tagging-Social Bookmarking- Delicious is a great way to share book marks with othere people. I think it could be an excellent study tool for students (And all areas whether it be home or work use). By using delicious and putting order to web sites for subjects that they are studying. I like the way it can be shared also.

Week 5- Play week with Generators

Make your own Bling. This was a fun exercise. Send your friends messages that they really have to think about until they read them out loud.

A way of contacting readers with the same interests and refining your searches.

A real time saver tool for people in a hurry. Could be used as a means of keeping people up to date with current news in the work place also people that share the same interests, many things really.
